I'm a new cyclist and I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid. So I'm not sure about the whole balancing on two wheels thing. Are there other good trikes (sitting or recumbent) to look at also? (I don't want to spend over $300).
Of the three in your question, I would chose the second one.
The two upright trikes are incredibly heavy. The Schwinn trike's shipping weight is 73 pounds!! That is as far as I can tell a one speed trike.
There are many used bicycles you can buy. Take the plunge and buy a quality bike on the used market. stay away from the department store brands like Roadmaster. Junk is the best word I can use to describe them.
