Trek Fuel
Anybody ever ridden a trek fuel ex 8? im thinking about getting one and need to know if there a good bike?
Yes and over the past few years most mfgs have reduced the specs on all their bike lineups (downgraded component groups) and My EX 9.9 came with the full XTR group but this year they are coming with both XTR and Saint which is almost as good too. There isnt alot of difference between them overall and I rode the 8 for a day with the full XT group....not alot of difference if you ask me, just price. If you are looking at one with the SLX group then you will be fine with it. I did not notice much loss of power if not "locked' out in the rear on any of them myself. It is a really great bike not matter which one you choose at this level and higher!
Edit: Brandon I am not certain that you know or will be able to choose any bike at all. You keep asking about IH and now Trek? You are not going to get a Trek for the prices that Randall Scott has those IH bikes for especially one of those Fuel ex 8's! As long as you pick one of these and spend as much as you can on a well spec'd bike and you know the limits of the bike you choose and you take care of it, then you will do well no matter the brand you choose. Almost any bike over that $1,500 price range will be a great ride. I own several IH and a Trek and a few others and they are all great and each has their differences too but overall they are all very similar in specs mostly but not weight and that difference is only about 5 lbs at best. Just pick one and treat it like a good woman....ride it hard and put it away wet! Of course clean it after each ride too. (I generally let her clean herself) lol!
