piece of wire length cut into two sections, and bent into a square and a circle, find length of the sections?

A piece of wire length 16cm is cut into two sections. one section is bent into the shape of a square, the other into a circle. if the sum of the two areas is a minimum, find the lengths of the two sections.

I am unsure of how to do this question, i've been trying for ages but keep getting the same answer of both lengths being 8cm but this is incorrect.

This part of the question is superfluous: "if the sum of the two areas is a minimum", and made redundant by the opening statement.
