What Gears to use on my mountain bike 21, when the speed ....?

I bought a mountain bike 21 speed 26''Mongoose of XR-75 Dual Suspension Bike Men. If I want to get the fastest lap on the road, what should I do with all these items? oh>. <And if Please do not say buy a bike cogens different, I do not have that kind of money.

tiffy here is a primer, I did a month or two ago. The only difference is that if you use the bike on the road, change your open sea, studded tires for smaller, thinner, smooth road type tires. The gear controls the right rear (wheel) wheels. The wheels are easier (below) and small gears are more difficult (higher) and faster. The left hand controls the three gears (chain rings) attached to the pedal. Using the smallest single to climb steep slopes. You use the two largest for apartments and descents. On a mountain bike I would say almost always the largest chain wheel (controlled by the left hand) and I would use the right gear to keep my pace of rotation and pressure on the pedal. SEE BELOW pedal is the most important part horse riding. You turn the pedals at a high rate of + 70 min with moderate pressure on the pedal. You use the gears to maintain the same cadence and pedal pressure through your turn on any terrain. Do not "mash" the pedals .... pedal at a rate too slow too high / hard of a gear.
