Use second drive to dual boot when Vista already installed?

I have a computer with Vista already installed. The drive is partitioned with C being the Vista drive and D being the drive holding all the backup files.
I purchased a second SATA drive on which I want to install XP.
I want to dual boot but all the sites seem to be geared to partitioning the existing drive. I've downloaded VistaBoot Pro 3.3 to assist me doing this.
