Campy Chorus
Getting made up to play a girl part?
I've agreed to stand in for a girl who hurt herself in a HS musical bc i can roller skate and no one else wanted to do it at short notice... so yeah even tho i am a guy i'm stepping up from the back male chorus line to a more middle ranking girl part... few scenes and girl chorus line near the back. it's footloose...
already now the lead make up person wants to try some make up and a wig on me to make me look more girlish without it being campy... even though i am a guy it's not like it's really meant to be that obvious.. not like hairspray and john travolta..
i'm not really sure what is all involved in getting made up.. the part is sort of a late teen hs girl in the 80's, but is a scene is set around a prom type dance too...
do u think she'd use much make up or not so much. What's really involved and how long does it usually take? just not sure what to expect for the first time..
Well, usually any performance requires both guys and girls to wear makeup that is exaggerated so the audience can see you face better. Chances are they'll add some eyeliner, lipstick/gloss, and blush. If it's good makeup, it won't feel like you're wearing a mask which is nice. It might be a little uncomfortable though.
