buying used bike from large established dealer, are there ways to save $ on used bike when dealing?

with sophisticated seller, my first bike, i know i can just offer less when dealing with private sale, does that game work with professional sellers?

Your best bet is to play the dealers against one another. Motorcycles margins are meager compared to those on cars. Check the link below. Dealers will try to get as much money as possible from you and tend not to budge much. It's not like buying a car.

You might have to make a few stops at the local dealerships and see if they'll beat the others' offers. Your mileage will vary depending on how much competition they have.

Honestly, your best bet is to do your homework and learn what to look for in a used bike, then buy from a private seller. If you have a friend that knows about bikes (i.e., he works on his own bike), take him along.
