How do I maintain a dirt bike?
I am getting a Yamaha ttr-230 this Tuesday and wanted to get some tips as to how to keep your dirt bike in excellent shape. I know that I have to do oil changes, beyond that I don't know much so any help is appreciated. Also what kind of fuel do four stroke engines need?
well u will need to clean out the air filter when it gets dirty, and if your 230 is brand new u need to do the "running in" procedure. this is so the engine can wear itself in properly. to do this its pretty simple, when ur riding it just dont rev it to high and it will be fine. after the first 10 hours or so then u can use the bike to its full potential. oh and another tip to keep ur bike in good shape: always warm the engine up b4 going out to ride. when u start it and its cold just let it idle for a minute or 2. And never ride with the choke on as that can do major engine damage. When u get a manual read the whole thing b4 going out to ride.
