Has anybody been to the Sturgis or Black Hills Bike Rally in South Dakota before? If you have, could you tell me what it is like, is it expensive, crowded???????
I live about 20 miles from Sturgis and it is exspensive and crowded, but a ton of fun. If you're a avid rider, it's something you should experience at least once. To save money, plan on camping out and eating at fast food resturaunts outside of Sturgis. Downtown vendors charge amusement park prices on all of their food. All of the hotels in the area raise thier rates during the rally.
If you are a beginning rider, wait a year or two before you come out. There are so many bikes on the road and traffic is often heavy. Beginning riders seem to have more trouble than experienced ones.
