Dr. said no elliptical until week 14 of pregnancy?
I was pregnant with twins, but lost baby b around late week 10 early week 11 of pregnancy. Baby A is doing fine, with a heartbeat of 160, very active on the sonogram. My doctor told me not to do my elliptical machine until week 14 when the placenta attaches. He said to avoid anything bouncy like ellipticals or even my bicycle machine but that walking is okay. He even said no intercourse to be on the safe side. So my husband and I have been doing 2 mile walks in 35 minutes every night on mostly flatter land, just a couple slight slopes.
I don't understand how my elliptical could be any more risk than walking. Ellitpicals have nice strides and don't bounce me all over. I'm beginning to wonder if my OBGYN knows what he is talking about.
I'm only walking because I want to do right by my baby, but what do you think about all this?
I suggest you you listen to your doctor...if hes giving such advise if for a reason...walking is more mellow that a real work out and you should cut that back a bit two until your out of risky territory...You need to get more rest and do whats good for your baby...your pregnant you dont have to be on tiptop shape you have to care of that baby its more important.
