How can one import a mountain type Afghan Hound from Afghanistan or neighbouring countries to Europe? Would th

I am asking this as I feel the present gene pool is drying out and fresh blood is needed to keep the mountain type Afghan as it is first imported by Lady Amps.
Does any other country in the East or in Asia have working, hunting Afghan Hounds (coat is no problem). I don't mean Aboriginal Hounds from Russia or Kalagh Tazis, which are of the desert type.
Any help appreciated!!!

I don't know your breed to answer you specifically, but I will write that importing a dog wasn't a problem for me. I simply flew over the other country and brought two pups back.

If you are interested in showing, you will have to import dogs who are registered with their national breed club. Then, it's simply a matter of flying over and bringing back some dogs. Registering them is easy when your kennel club recognizes the foreign registry. For example, I live in America and show under AKC. I imported two dogs from Poland. AKC recognizes all registries which show under FCI, which includes Poland.

The other option would be to petition to open the stud books so that new bloodlines can be added. This would allow non-registered members of your breed to be brought in. This is far more complicated to do than to write about so try looking into bringing in registered Afghans. I'm sure Afghanistan has a show dog registry. If not, I appologize for my ingnorance.
