On the sims 2 double deluxe, can teen sims marry/date adult sims?

Oh and meeghan...you can have a teen family. Just make one adult and then have the adult die during gameplay...then it's just the teens.
nopee i was all excited about making this family but i found out that one had to be an adult in order to be an official family and the guy that was perfect for her couldnt date her cuz they werent allowed to flirt or anything
